I’ll teach you how to do that yourself”, Shadé says enthusiastically.

Shadé’s wine tastings are not standard. There is a game element to it. For example, she made an aroma wheel herself. “In addition to wines, I take other materials with me, such as ingredients to smell. For example, lemon, you are going to smell how exactly that smells and how you can recognize it as a smell in a wine.” You write down your findings on a wine substitute mat that Shadé has developed.

In addition to recognizing the smells and flavors, you will learn about the correct temperatures for each wine. Which combinations with food work best and whether you should decant or not. “There is so much to tell about wine. I regularly get very specific questions about wine, such as which wine you serve with which dish. All questions are welcome and I think a tailor-made program is a great challenge.”
